The Situation

CATO, a national women’s clothing retailer, desired to expand their concept into underserved markets, including portions of eastern New Mexico. Targeted markets were small in population but large in regional draw. Lack of local developers or new developers who would agree to enter the markets or suitable existing opportunities left CATO without locations and searching for a solution.

The Solution

KMO Development Group undertook the assignment to develop three markets in rapid succession. Utilizing computer mapping and demographic analysis in addition to an extensive ground site search, KMO was able to complete three small retail centers, 10,000 – 28,000 square feet and anchored by CATO, well within the client’s expected time frames.
